Systems Administrator / Endpoint & Identity Engineer
Part-Time (1099) On-Site / Hybrid Clearance: None $35 - $50/hour
Overview
Hands-on endpoint and identity administrator responsible for rebuilding Dell laptops, maintaining Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, and supporting core identity provider and access management functions across the company.
Responsibilities
- Rebuild, configure, image, and deploy Dell laptops and other company endpoints
- Perform Windows installation, driver validation, patching, hardening, and baseline configuration
- Join devices to Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, or hybrid environments as required
- Configure endpoint policies, security settings, device compliance, and standard software packages
- Manage device provisioning workflows, including Autopilot, Intune, or other endpoint management tooling where applicable
- Organize, clean up, and maintain existing Active Directory structure, including users, groups, computers, and OUs
- Administer Microsoft Entra ID, including user lifecycle tasks, group membership, access reviews, access policy support, and identity troubleshooting
- Support SSO, MFA, password reset, account recovery, and other core identity and access functions
- Assist with additional IdP functions and integrations as needed, including federation, provisioning, and access control administration
- Troubleshoot endpoint, domain join, profile, authentication, and access issues
- Maintain documentation for workstation build standards, identity processes, and administrative procedures
- Coordinate with IT, security, and operations teams to enforce company standards for endpoint and identity management
Requirements
- Experience rebuilding, deploying, and supporting Windows laptops and desktops in an enterprise environment
- Strong experience with Microsoft Active Directory
- Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID
- Experience with endpoint configuration, imaging, patching, and hardware provisioning
- Experience administering users, groups, permissions, group policy, and computer objects
- Familiarity with identity and access management concepts such as MFA, SSO, RBAC, conditional access, and lifecycle management
- Experience troubleshooting Windows login, domain join, device compliance, and authentication issues
- Ability to document processes and maintain organized administrative standards
- Current Microsoft certification in endpoint or identity administration, or the ability to obtain one quickly
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
- Experience with Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager
- Experience with Windows Autopilot
- Experience with hybrid AD / Entra environments
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and administration
- Experience with additional identity providers or SSO platforms
- Familiarity with security baselines, compliance controls, and endpoint hardening
